Office Changes Due to Coronavirus Pandemic

Dear patients,

The Markham Ellesmere Clinic is working diligently to manage patient care during the ongoing risks with COVID-19.

To limit exposure of patients to the virus, we will be offering in person appointments and as well as via telephone. We appreciate that there are risks and limitations with virtual care. Please see the statement “Information for Patient for Virtual Care” on our website for further details.

With implementing virtual care, you can expect to see the following changes:

  • Patients with respiratory complaints such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath or with recent travel history may be assessed by telephone.

  • Scheduled appointments with your family doctor or with the After-Hours Clinic will still be available but will be conducted in person or via telephone.

  • Medication renewals will be reviewed and may be faxed to your pharmacy directly. No fee will be charged by our clinic.

  • Requisitions for lab tests and diagnostic imaging will be faxed or emailed where possible.

For matters that cannot be managed remotely, an in-person clinic appointment will be scheduled for you.

If you have new onset fever, cough, or difficulty breathing AND in the 14 days prior to being unwell you have: been to a COVID-19 impacted area, OR have been in close contact with a confirmed or probably case of COVID-19, you should perform an at home rapid COVID-19 test and isolate until your symptoms improve. If you have any concerns about your symptoms, please call to make an appointment with your physician.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We hope that with the above measures we will be able to continue to provide you with safe and effective care.
